It all started in 2013, I was standing in the kitchen of my parents home. I was on the phone with a friend when a sharp pain shot through my lower back and down my right leg. The pain was excruciating. I struggled for about an hour before finally passing out on the ground from pain. When I awoke I could no longer feel my right leg, it was completely numb. After an MRI, I discovered that debris from a ruptured disk was pinching my sciatic nerve. I needed emergency surgery to relieve the pressure or I would lose my leg forever.
I remember limping into the surgery center and could not help but notice the beautiful photos framed throughout the hall. I looked abit closer to see the locations printed in small text in the corner of the frames. To my surprise, all the photos were taken in Arizona, my home state. I had never seen or even heard of the places that were hanging on the hospital wall. In that moment I made a promise to myself, if I made it through my surgery I would find those places I had seen.
Since then, I have not only seen all the places in the pictures hanging in the the hospital hallway, but I have traveled the world taking thousands of pictures along the way. This website is my way of sharing my adventures, my life, with everyone that visits FrietzPhoto.com. Hopefully, after reading my story, you will feel like you know me a little better 🙂
